The Kyoto Protocol is one of the most important treaties signed today. It has great limitations and has yet to evolve to another level, but it addresses a problem that does not affect one, two or ten countries: it affects the entire world. That's why countries must work and cooperate to create a binding legal document that sets specific standards for greenhouse gas emissions. In recent decades we have witnessed a gradual change in our environment. Our planet is warming very rapidly, which leads to the so-called global warming. Humanity has understood that its actions are the cause of this warming. The industries of our industrialized countries emit enormous quantities of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, which heats the lower atmosphere and thus gradually contributes to global warming (climate change facts, no date). The effects of global warming can be seen all over the world: droughts, floods, tsunamis, melting polar ice caps, snowfall in places like Israel, spread of diseases (which were unable to survive in the once cold climate) etc. In addition to the degrading environmental effects, world leaders must keep in mind the economic implications of this effect: melting ice sheets will open up new trade routes that could pose a threat to some countries (such as Russia), Earth's ever-growing population will soon starve due to the disappearance of some crops and species, move fishing grounds which may cause disputes over fishing rights between countries, etc. All these reasons and effects have made people and, above all, world leaders, realize that a change is necessary in our lives so that we can guarantee a normal future for the next generations. There are many things that everyone says... middle of the paper... let's take the initiative to advance the protocol in its aim to legally reduce greenhouse gases. In subsequent meetings between national leaders this should be a priority topic as it not only affects us right now, but will affect future generations. This is why I think the Protocol is a great achievement of international relations and humanity as a whole and should be supported and ratified by every country, as well as being updated and updated regularly.
