Hip-hop is a style of popular music of black and Hispanic origin in the United States, characterized by rapping with electronic support. It was created for young visionaries who have tapped into their greatest potential to send a message, from the heart. It's not just hip-hop that's destroying the black community, it's the music industry. The mainstream media has been bombarding people who listen to hip-hop with a steady diet of rappers talking about drugs, money, sex and violence for over two decades. The blame goes to MTV, BET and other networks. In contrast, BET is not what it is portrayed to be. BET stands for Black Entertainment Television and the founder of BET is Robert L. Johnson and the CEO is Debra L. Lee. Viacom Inc. bought BET for $2.3 billion. Black-owned parent of the nation's largest cable television channel. What people don't know is that Viacom is a media powerhouse that owns CBS, MTV, and Nickelodeon, but Viacom is founded by Luis Doma and owned by National Amusements. BET is controlled by white Americans…. Isn't that rather strange? Many people don't understand what's going on in theirs
