Any harm to an individual caused by another is called a wrong. So far we have learned that these torts fall into three specific types: intentional, negligent and strict liability. I'm sure that if I were to sit down and reflect on the past, I could remember being the victim, more than once, of some form of tort and this is probably true of most people. Most restaurants have worked so hard to rid themselves of any potential tort issues due to prior incidents (not necessarily incidents that happened to them but incidents that may have happened to other establishments) that it has been a difficult feat to go out there and find some of these problems. It was very difficult to visit a restaurant once and find five examples of wrongdoing. I had to choose a place I was familiar with and a place I go to regularly, so "TGI Fridays" seemed like a good candidate to fall under my scrutiny. I've been there many times and usually I wouldn't have anything bad to say about it, but this time I was aware of it and really took in everything around me. The first thing I noticed after entering and sitting at my table, there was the large decoration above my table in the shape of a model airplane. It was quite large and it was made of metal, so I thought to myself, let's say I was sitting here eating and for some reason it was about to fall over. At that point it would have happened to me a little unlikely, but as for many other people who sit at the same table for any length of time, all it would take is one loosened screw. They could really be in trouble if this happened and someone got hurt. These decorations make the place what it is and enhance the atmosphere, so taking them all away at once would ruin it, but perhaps it would be better to use a lighter material in case it collapses. This would probably fall under strict liability if it were to happen, unless it can be shown to have occurred through negligence. They also have a full liquor bar in their restaurants and being open to the public for all ages to come in and dine, I'm sure they will. they have to be very careful who they serve alcohol to.
