Oedipus is a very intelligent man who somehow sees what his people need before he needs it. In fact this is one of the main reasons why he became king, because of his intuition. He also saves his people by solving the riddle of the sphinx. But despite being a very intelligent man, in some situations he seems distracted. Anticipation can be a good thing, but there are always risks or consequences to acting recklessly. With this combination it is difficult to say whether Oedipus is a good leader or whether he is a tyrant.
