This article examines the health assessment perspective on methamphetamine use in adults and explores the implications of the drug and public health response to this epidemic by examining data and findings. This document evaluates the health risks of methamphetamine, plans community interventions and public health policy. Methamphetamine is a highly addictive synthetic drug produced by both youth and adults in the United States. This fact is confirmed by government officials who focus on illicit drugs. Pontzer (2013) points out that the main problem is probably due to the increasing use of the drug, the availability of how to produce it and the information on the ingredients needed to produce it on the Internet (par.4).Review of ReportsResearchers agree that millions of people they struggle with methamphetamine every second of the day and all over the world. Methamphetamine does not exclude or condone class, gender, race, age or religion and is a serious global problem with serious consequences within every community. For example, an article in the September 2006 issue of People's Magazine gives us a look at the drug addiction struggles of Fergie, the lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas. In this case his drug of choice at the time was crystal methamphetamine. "He was the hardest guy I ever had to break up with. I got into why I got there: It's the addictive drug.
