This then raises the question of how our food is much worse than we initially believed. Bryan Walsh, a writer for TIME, wrote the article, The Real Cost of Cheap Food, "To stay and grow in such conditions, farm animals need pharmaceutical help, which can have further harmful consequences for humans" (Walsh 34). From chickens to cows, animals are kept in “prison-like conditions” that make them seriously ill (Walsh 34). To prevent animals from becoming seriously ill to the point of dying before their time, farmers give them antibiotics. Not only do animals eat corn and antibiotics, but so do we. We're eating way more than we ever asked for. I never asked for antibiotics to be put in my burger, and I'm sure many others didn't either, however, this is the price we should pay for our cheap food. Not only do we have to ask ourselves if we are healthy, but we now have to ask ourselves if what we eat is even eating
