Title No one from Sandy Hook, Connecticut, ever thought this type of event could happen. On December 14, 2012, twenty-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed twenty children and six adult staff members in a mass killing at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Before the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Lanza shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, in her home in Newtown, Connecticut. After the shooting, Lanza successfully committed suicide before being arrested. This left the state, officials and the entire country wondering why Lanza would carry out such a horrific act of violence against innocent children and school staff members. Furthermore, calling into question the safety of schools, and also of our country. There are many conspiracies surrounding the Sandy Hook shooting. Some believe Adam Lanza was not the killer. He was just a scapegoat and the deaths were actually assumed by the government. Some claim that Adam Lanza was not even a real person or that he had died some time ago and that the identity was assumed in the fictional character created to be the perpetrator. To the contrary, there is evidence that the massacre is not a hoax and Adam Lanza killed children, adults and himself at Sandy Hook Elementary. In the small town of Newtown, Connecticut, Sandy Hook Elementary is home to many students and families. Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut, was a home of 28,000 residents about sixty miles from New York City. The surrounding community was hit hard. The massacre which dramatically shocked the families of the victims traumatized the entire nation. Citizens are left in doubt and suspicion, and this is where the conspiracies have their roots. Conspiracy theorists came into possession of a photo of Obama with the victims' families after the event. Theorists were convinced that the massacre was a hoax when a younger sister of Emilie Parker was rumored to be Emilie ("Comprehensive"). The photo was not "photoshopped", it was proven to Emilie Parker's younger sister. Not only are Sandy Hook Elementary's theories wrong, but they show no respect for the families and loved ones who have lost a part of their lives. On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza broke into Sandy Hook Elementary School and fatally shot twenty children and six adult staff members in a mass murder, including himself.
