Topic > Electrostatic Precipitator - 1219

The electrostatic precipitator (ESP) is a machine used in factories, to clean solid waste particles, such as ash, from exhaust gases, allowing clean exit of exhaust gases through the fireplace. The electrostatic precipitator works by first allowing the exhaust gas with solid waste particles to pass through the nozzle as shown in the diagram below. Then the exhaust gas passes through the inlet gas distributor, which evenly distributes the gas as shown below in turquoise color, and begins to pass through the discharge electrodes and collector plates, shown in the diagram in red and blue respectively . The discharge electrodes, powered by high voltage direct current, negatively ionize the gas together with other solid waste particles. The collector plates are also charged with high voltage electricity, but it is positively charged, so it attracts the negatively charged solid particle, because oppositely charged particles attract each other. This allows clean exhaust gas to pass through the other end, while solid waste particles remain trapped in the collector plates. Eventually, when there are enough solid waste particles collected on the collection plates, the collection plates shake off the collected waste, where it falls to the bottom of the pit as shown in the diagram as "Hopper".http://www. babcock. com/products/Documents/dryESP_illustration.jpgMany cities are currently affected by air pollution and Hong Kong is an example of this. Hong Kong's air pollution level often exceeds the air pollution level recommended by the World Health Organization, and Hong Kong's pollution index was "very high", which means it exceeded 101, by 34%. of cases (Hunt, 2011). Another example, when Hong Kong exceeds... half of the paper... tag and many regulations in some countries requiring factories to use one, it puts a lot of stress and increases costs for factory operators, and could cause job cuts to purchase and operate ESP. This could affect economic growth, but on the other hand ESP will result in cleaner air, and this has increased the price of the real estate market due to cleaner air (Rich 2011), which will help an economy stagnant, for example in the United States. they believe that ESP has a predominantly positive impact on society at large. ESPs have had a positive impact on the environment and health, but have both economic advantages and disadvantages. However I believe that cooperatives and factories have a responsibility to address their pollution, because they created it in the first place, even though this may require a certain amount of money and investment.
