Topic > Thinking Critically - 1170

Over the past five weeks we have covered many topics, including decision-making models, mistakes and what they mean for critical thinking, analysis of work-related situations, and tools and techniques we can use to solve, solve and solve problems. I would like to summarize the course by examining how ethics influence our daily decision-making and touching on the impact technology has had on work-related stress. The Influence of Ethics on Decision Making Most companies that offer leadership training courses emphasize the need for human skills at all managerial levels. One of these skills is the ability to successfully deal with conflicts and disagreements that occur within departments. Many companies, like Daslos Inc., that have large numbers of employees, are moving more towards having employees work in subcultures or smaller departments. With this trend also comes a greater frequency of conflicts and disagreements between workers. There are many causes of conflicts between colleagues, as has been witnessed in previous writings from the "Issue Analysis Summary" document assigned to Team A. Some of these causes may come from within the organization through unethical or unprofessional behavior from management or from external environments, such as customers or suppliers. When the problem emerges from management, a subordinate may feel helpless in dealing with conflicts and disagreements. This is why it is important to have a bipartisan resolution team. Daslos Inc. has a toll-free dispute resolution hotline of 1 to 800 employees. The employee is guaranteed anatomy and will have a dispute resolution team assigned to the job to resolve issues employees are having with management or coworkers. Daslos Inc. has also established an ethics hotline for all employees to report unethical behavior. The following is located on our intranet under Code of Ethics and is available to all employees: • Ethics Helpline To report violations of the law or the Code of Business Conduct you can call the Daslos Inc. Ethics Helpline. The Helpline is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is operated by an independent company. You can remain anonymous and translators are available. (Daslos Inc., 2006) The Ethics Helpline lists telephone numbers in the United States, United Kingdom, and Indonesia, as well as including a number that can be used for all countries. (Daslos Inc.
