Designing Children Should we design children? Designer babies are people who are genetically modified before birth, (as an embryo) to change their sex, appearance or maybe even personality! Since the DNA code was cracked a couple of years ago, it has been made possible to change a human embryo by injecting genes into it. These injected genes can change the sex, appearance and personality of that particular baby when it is born. For example, you can currently choose the gender of your child in the United States, even if it costs a whopping $2,500. Are these designer babies improving nature? Improving nature is a step forward for the human race; in a word, evolution. By engineering and genetically modifying children, are we evolving as a race? We certainly can't say. I mean, did we know when we invented fire that we were evolving, did we know when we invented computers that we were evolving? No. We did it anyway anyway. The point I'm trying to make is that we can't know what evolution or improvement is without trying first. How can we ever hope to evolve without taking these risks? The answer is that we can't. In this essay I will outline the arguments for and against designing for children. I will then conclude by providing my final thoughts and opinions on how I believe we should continue our research and experimentation with Designer Babies. Until now, nature has worked tirelessly to shape the distinctive characteristics that make humans modern, however this process has been very slow, taking many thousands of people. years to perfect. Nowadays, with the dramatic discovery of the human genome in recent years, scientists ... unscrupulous doctors to make their wishes come true. Taken to the extreme, those with access to money may feel justified in "buying" a beautiful, custom-made baby. Once the guidelines have been drawn up, a unilateral agreement between world governments would also be important because it would be useless to make designer children, because the aim of parental satisfaction is illegal in Europe just to make people go to the United States and carry out the procedure there. Therefore, my final verdict is that engineered babies have the potential to improve nature, although research and experimentation must be carried out with greater moderation internationally until we have more defined guidelines to protect ourselves.
