Nowadays, humans have created the ability to manipulate a person's body and overall health to further extend one's life. From simple things like dietary changes or supplements, to life-saving technology, medicine, and everything in between, the ability to make a life last longer than it otherwise would is an extraordinary gift. While the future holds many opportunities for growth in the ability to extend human lifespan, the medical capabilities currently possessed offer mankind the chance to live longer than ever before. Today, many people pay close attention to their diet to ensure they maintain healthy, strong bodies to live the longest life possible. Diet and exercise together have become one of the most studied ideas in the world. In the book Diet and Exercise: Synergism in Maintaining Health, the ideology that a person who eats well and exercises regularly was strongly emphasized. Through numerous studies, it has been proven that the health of an individual's body is directly related to the age that individual passes. A healthier person was generally reported to live significantly longer than one deemed less healthy. Factors such as whether a person constantly smoked, regularly ate fast food, or never exercised all contributed to the population of people not living in until a very late age. While these ideals seem obvious, many people overlook a simple knowledge: The better a person takes care of their body, inside and out, the longer they will live.
