For this assignment I did a work study for the hotel management industry. The reason I chose the hotel management sector is because it is a career path that I have always been interested and curious about. It is a rapidly growing global industry. I have always wanted an exciting career, one that integrated my entrepreneurial and creative skills in a more energetic, active and fun way than most orthodox and boring office jobs. I also wanted to work in an industry I was passionate about. For my first year of applied study I had the opportunity to work at The Taj hotels, resorts and palaces in India, and my experience there established many of my principles about how the hospitality industry works. Despite the refinement of my work experience, which allowed me to explore the various departments and the needs of daily work, I had never researched in depth the job prospects, skills and requirements required in the hotel management sector; and this is exactly what I aim to achieve with this report. You can also open your own hotel after becoming an expert manager. Within six months of graduation, hotel industry graduates can easily find work in this industry. Some of them choose to work in restaurants, pubs, event organizers or as waiters, chefs and receptionists. On the other hand, some additional fellows gain work experience while studying to broaden their opportunities and further specialize in hospitality-related functions. In the hospitality industry you have to be ready to work all over the world. There are overseas job opportunities available for interns and other employees looking to expand their horizons. Your ability to progress in this industry depends on your level of experience, your flexibility in moving around the world, and the size of the hotel or chain..
