LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PLAN Journey as a Leader Leadership is a process of influencing where a person can gain the help and support of others in achieving a goal or task specific. Leadership has nothing to do with seniority or one's position, titles, personal attributes but rather a leader is someone who has followers, has the ability to turn a vision into reality. We live in a society where there is interaction, limited resources, expertise that raises issues such as culture, economic transactions, government and governance, international relations, arts and entertainment to be addressed religiously. Therefore, regarding these aspects, the leadership helped me focus more to understand many things that caused the slow development of Ghana as a nation and Africa as a whole. I was also able to determine the link between leadership and the ideal society. I also learned that every society has elites and their actions could have multiplicative effects on everyone, especially the masses who constitute the invisible forces that can cause change. The only way changes can be made is to learn from others, become pragmatic and make well-informed decisions. My journey through leadership four has taught me to be a much better person and to believe in myself. It helped me manage my emotions and those of others, learn about my strengths and weaknesses, and find ways to address them to my advantage without being harmful to society. Being in the four leadership classes was an eye opening and inspiring experience. People like Gloria de Souza, Jeroo Billimoria and Veronica Khosa embody leadership. They are people who dared to think and do things differently, who paid attention to the... middle of paper... progress and losses. I ask myself to be accountable to my roommates, friends, family and loved ones who would help me achieve these goals and to the people who have invested in me. My guardian would be my roommate who is also my classmate thus ensuring effective supervision. Rewards With reference to rewards, success of all of the above or at least some of them would lead to self-realization. I would begin to feel that I was mature enough to take on bigger tasks in the world. The fact that I was able to change some of my negative aspects means that I can help others do so. Sanctions My inability to achieve these goals would lead me to do an in-depth self-evaluation to know the reasons why and if that doesn't turn out well, I may have to consult a psychologist to guide me through a step-by-step self-disciplinary approach, a counselor for career path or a counselor for help.
