The TEKS are a guideline that teachers must follow for students to meet Texas standards. TEKS are objectives that students should master and know once they graduate from high school. The objectives given by TEKS are the main thing they should learn. The teacher can teach the lesson any way they want, but must follow the TEKS objectives.
