Population growth is one of the ways a sociologist can see changes within society. A population consists of all or all of those who are studied in an inference procedure. Populations can be large, although this is not necessary. The important thing is that a population includes everything that intrigues us. Populations are made up of groups that must live in the same area at the same time (Taylor). The number of individuals who simultaneously inhabit a place in society is called size. The number of individuals in a specific area refers to density. And finally, the population size that changes over time is the growing population. We know that a population is made up of groups of individuals in a particular area. The amount of people in the area is determined by three main things. The number of live births, deaths and natural changes: such as migration. Birth rate refers to the number of children born. The CIA's Site Redirect states: the average annual number of births during a year per 1,000 people in the population at mid-year; also known as crude birth rate. The birth rate is usually the dominant factor in determining the rate of population growth. It depends on both the level of fertility and the age structure of the population (CIA Site Redirect, 2010). As one might infer, the number of deaths within a population can influence its growth. The mortality rate, which does not take into account all categories of mortality in a population, is a point at which to evaluate the mortality situation in a country, it accurately indicates the current impact of mortality on population growth. The average annual number of deaths during a year per 1,000 inhabitants at mid-year; also known as crude death rate (CIA, 2013). Both...... half of the document...... Site redirect.
