Albert Einstein, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Socrates, Leonardo Da Vinci and Nikola Tesla are all men in history who have been considered geniuses. We consider someone a genius because of his talent or simply because of the brain he possesses. Geniuses think outside the box and find ways to influence our world, whether through scientific discoveries, philosophy, art, or innovations that influence the way we live. Steve Jobs has become famous in America and around the world recently and even more so after his death on October 5, 2011 (Moisescot). In the 56 years of Steve Jobs' life, he found ways to impact our world. Steve Jobs was influenced first and foremost by his early life. He then influenced the businesses he created. His life was very significant in revolutionizing his company and our world. Through these things, we can see that Steve Jobs was a genius. He did great things because he followed what he preached. “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you will know when you find it (Schwartz).” Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 to Joanne Schieble and her boyfriend in San Francisco. He was given up for adoption to Clara and Paul Jobs. Joanne Schieble agreed to the adoption only because Clara and Paul Jobs promised to send Steve to college (Moisescot). When Jobs grew up and started school, his parents discovered that he was exceptionally bright. Jobs was also quite stubborn and confident. He only wanted to do the things that interested him. His parents made him feel special and loved, but his adoption still left him with an independent spirit. His parents influenced him in other ways as well. His father, Paul, was interested... in the middle of paper... influencing the business world through Apple, NeXT and Pixar. He is significant as are all the geniuses of our world. Albert Einstein, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Socrates, Leonardo Da Vinci and Nikola Tesla are all geniuses because their actions changed the world. They were brilliant and sometimes crazy men, but their inventions and ideas will stand the test of time. They revolutionized our world. Steve Jobs was able to do the same thing. Walter Isaacson said in Time Magazine: "History will place him in the pantheon right next to Thomas Edison and Henry Ford." Isaacson points out that Steve Jobs was a master at combining ideas, art and technology in ways that changed the world. Steve Jobs is a genius and will be remembered as such. Steve Jobs followed his passion and in one of his speeches reminded Americans: “There is no reason not to follow your heart” (Theroux).
