A new aspect of Korean culture that we can tap into is the Mukbang trend. Mukbang comes from the two Korean words for "eat" and "broadcast." This trend involves people streaming videos of themselves eating large quantities of food in front of thousands of people. Supposedly, it became popular in South Korea due to the number of single-member families in Seoul (“Young Koreans are gaining ground”). People appreciate the experience of not having to eat alone. It is also said to be popular with people who are on a diet or who are simply unable to eat certain foods ("Young Koreans are gaining ground"). I believe we may be able to use this trend to our advantage. These broadcasters, also called BJs, become trusted friends of their viewers. You may be able to send Pop Tarts for these BJs to try on the broadcast. This would mean bringing the Pop Tart brand to thousands of Koreans in our target market with little to no effort. This would help us get around junk food television
