I will be writing about a character from the book The Outsiders, his name is Dallas Winston also known as "Dally". I will write this essay from first person perspective through journal entries, so it was that day... I was sitting there waiting for Ponyboy and Johnny. They finally arrived and we went to the drugstore in the mall. After a while the movie was starting so we left The Dingo. We snuck through the back fence because I hated paying for stupid things like this. We sat near the booth and I sat right behind these two nice ladies and started talking dirty to the good associates. The redhead was getting mad at me and I think I broke my record for dirty talk, then she snapped and gave me a cold look. Then he blurted out, "Get your feet off my chair and shut the trap." I declared "Who will make me?" The other guy turned and said, "That's the greaser who sometimes jockeys for Slash J." I said "I know you". I've seen you around the rodeos." "It's a shame you can't ride the bull half as well as you can speak it," the redhead said coldly and then turned away again. This didn't bother me at all. “You two-barrel racer, huh,” I said. “You better leave us alone,” the redhead said in a sharp voice, “or I'll call the police.” “Oh, my, my, you scared the shit out of me. You should see my record sometime, honey. I smiled a little shyly. “Guess what I got myself into?” “Please leave us alone,” he said. “Why don't you be nice and leave us alone?” I smiled mischievously. “I'm never nice. Do you want a Coke?" I could tell she was mad at me by now. “I wouldn't drink that if I was starving in the desert. Get lost, Hood! So I decided to take a walk. I came back with five Cokes and I given one to all... in the middle of the sheet of paper... here you are going, but you can't risk being loaded with blankets." Pony began to button the "Hop on the three-fifteen train to Windrixville," I ordered. "There's an old abandoned church on top of Jay Mountain. There's a pump out back so don't worry about water. Buy a week's supply of food as soon as you get there this morning, before the story gets out, and then don't even stick your nose out the door. I'll be up there as soon as I think it's clear. Hell, I thought New York was the only place I could get involved in a murder charge." At the word "murder," Johnny made a small sound in his throat and shuddered. I walked them back to the door, turning off the porch light before they left. "Go!" I ruffled Johnny's hair. “Be careful, boy,” he said softly. “Sure, Dally, thanks.".
