Education impacts all of our lives. Having an education is what makes someone successful in life. Without an education you can't get a good job after college; without an education you won't even have the chance to attend college to have the full experience of growing up alone away from our parents. As a hard-working student who wants to succeed, I bring my knowledge to students in grades 5-7 and help them with homework and projects. I also had the chance to tell them about the complete change in the process from elementary to high school so they can be prepared when their time comes. The students I am helping are part of the Forward Leap project. Project Forward Leap (PFL) is a seven-year program committed to closing gaps in academic achievement and developmental opportunities among students with academic promise placed at risk by severe socioeconomic issues. economically disadvantaged and their advantaged peers and acting as a catalyst for raising achievement standards in their school. I was once part of Project Forward Leap, so now giving these kids back what I experienced at their age helps them realize they will never be forgotten by the PFL family. PFL made me the student I am today. They taught me techniques to become a good student and also prepared me for college at a young age. The reason I say Project Forward Leap is college prepared is because we take five weeks of our summer as rising students and spend it going to this camp. The camp is located throughout Pennsylvania at colleges such as Messiah and Millersville. It was like being a college student in the morning, having breakfast and then going to class. Once you completed your lessons, you went back to your…paperwork that day…to set your students up for success growing up. By focusing development to address the specific constraints and challenges of real-world classrooms, they increase the likelihood that schools will adopt the innovations needed to meet the needs of today's students. Looking at the community service and charities that caught my attention, there is a lot of help for students and children getting ready to start school. School isn't always easy for everyone, but with the help provided to young people now school shouldn't be too stressful for anyone who puts all their effort into their school work. Being hardworking will lead our generation to have a bright future and be much more successful than what they see perhaps from some of their parents or even other family members. If we continue to have organizations that will help us, everything will be fine.
