In the book To Kill a Mockingbird the story is set in Maycomb, Alabama. The Maycomb County setting was different depending on the time. During rainy weather grass grew on the sidewalks and the streets turned red. During the hot days there were flies in the shade. The setting is important because the time of the book was when the southern states were still racist and living a poor lifestyle. Another reason why the setting is important for the time of the book because winter comes early and it snows so the neighbors want the flowers to be protected and the kids want to make a snowman so it works for everyone. ConflictThe conflict main in the book In the book “To Kill a Mockingbird” Tom Robinson is accused of raping Mayella Ewell, Bob Ewell's daughter. And Atticus Finch agrees to protect Tom Robinson in his case. Then the rest of the Finch family is racially abused because their father is protecting an African American. The conflict in the book is external because it is Tom versus the city of Maycomb. Because he is African American, the opposite race views him and anyone on his side poorly. The conflict in the story is somewhat resolved. Tom is nevertheless found guilty and sent to prison. But he tried to escape and he was shot. Bob Ewell sent many threats to the Finch family and one night tried to kill Scout and Jem, but Boo Radley saves them and stabs Ewell. The sheriff knew they wanted to send the father to trial, protected him and said Ewell must have tripped over his own knife. This is how the great conflict is resolved. PlotThe story is told by Scout through her eyes and her thoughts. The story is set in Maycomb County. Scout and Jem went to school and didn't start... middle of paper...... Shoot all the blue jays you want but it's a shame to kill a mockingbird” I believe this quote relates to the theme of novel because Tom is the symbol of the mockingbird, he minded his own business and was accused of guilt even though he was proven innocent. And the city's racists are considered mockingjays, because they rebel against a white man who stands up for an African American. So I guess it means you can do good or bad, it will only affect your future., Opinion My opinion about the book is that it starts off slow and confusing, but towards the middle it starts to relax, but the second part is It was my favorite part of the book. I like reading books about crises because they fix my eyes on the book and make me want to finish it. I thought the book was enjoyable and I would definitely read it again.
