During one of my conversations with Mrs. Z, I learned that the transition is not easy for Luke. Before moving to our class, he was the oldest child in the toddler class, and was much more competent in every way than his peers. However, his role in my class has been completely changed: he becomes the youngest child in the class and is often ignored by his older peers. To fit into the class, he unconsciously imitates whatever other children do but cannot distinguish what the “right” and “wrong” things to do are.
