Topic > Advantages of Mixed Method Methodology - 1535

There are several definitions of mixed method research, a study by Johnson et al. (2007) found that mixed methods research was defined in 19 different ways. Among these definitions stands out that of Creswell and Clark (2007) who defines mixed method research as research in which the collection and analysis of data must integrate findings and draw influences using both qualitative and quantitative approaches or methods in a single study or investigation. The emphasis on the definition is “integrate,” establishing that many scholars believe that mixing or integration occurs at different stages of the research process. Similarly, Tashakkori and Teddlie (2010), define mixed methods research as a type of research design in which QUAL and QUAN (qualitative and quantitative) approaches are used in research questions, methods, collection procedures and data analysis or inferences. Several challenges that MMM faces which will be discussed below
