IntroductionSelf-assessment has always been one of the easiest ways to gain insight into a person's personality. These tests can range from online quizzes that tell you which pop star is your personality twin to standardized tests that require a certified test taker. Some of the most popular and highly researched tests have been the MMPI and its successors. The MMPI, created by Stark R. Hathaway and John Charneley McKinley, was the first step towards the MMPI-2-RF. The MMPI was initially created to test individuals ages 14 and older. Over the years, the MMPI has undergone many changes, evolving into three tests used today: MMPI-2, MMPI-A, and MMPI-2-RF (Cohen & Swerdlik, 2013). Overview The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 The restructured form, or more commonly known as the MMPI-2-RF, is used to assess various components of personality and psychopathology (Cohen & Swerdlik, 2013). Developed by Yossef S. Ben-Porath, PhD, and Auke Tellegen, PhD, the MMPI-2-RF is a newly developed version of the MMPI-2 originally published in 1943 by the University of Minnesota Press and distributed by Pearson Assessment. The University of Minnesota Press published the latest version of the MMPI-2, the MMPI-2-RF, in 2008. The MMPI-2-RF is composed of 338 True-False items, typically requiring 35- 50 minutes to complete although there is no time limit. The MMPI-2-RF has different prices depending on the scoring and reporting option you choose. The different kits available and their prices are as follows: Q-global™ Web-Based Scoring and Reporting ($175.00 - $230.00), Q-Local™ Software-Based Scoring and Reporting (($175.00 - $230.00), Manual Scoring ($459.00), and Scoring and Reporting by Mail ($175.00 - $235...... half of the document......
