Young adults nearing the finish line of their college career experience a dynamic variety of emotions that they might experience before putting on their cap and gown and moving on to the real world. For some it is an overwhelming roller coaster and can cause panic, joy, frustration, anxiety and even happiness. There are several areas of one's life that change during this transition in life. There are several areas of one's life that change during this transition in life. Happiness is interpreted in all shapes, forms and sizes based on our life experiences. There is no absolute answer to how each individual defines happiness; it is simply a prescription for how each individual integrates happiness into their life. Happiness can range from a feeling like going to a concert to a form of personal fulfillment like passing an exam. Throughout the semester, this course influenced my definition of happiness; it has broadened my horizon on free time and how free time plays a significant role in my life. Our careers, our free time and our lifestyle change after graduation; how we deal with that change and see ourselves during that transition influences our recipe for happiness. While each individual has a different set of values and opportunities, each individual must have an idea of where they want to go in life and how to get there. Free time improves quality of life through subjective interpretations of satisfaction; leisure can be anything that is stimulating and satisfying for an individual. We all have different ideas about free time and lifestyles, but no individual can live without free time. I was fortunate to have a base of support to start life; I have a supportive family... middle of the road... I have an open mind to learn and embrace new opportunities. Considering how subjective free time is, it is important for each individual to find what makes them happy and fulfills their free time. I do a good job of finding those fulfilling opportunities and finding challenging experiences that can end up improving my life, which is part of my success in my free time. From the foundation of my family and friends I have developed a set of values, goals and objectives that I intend to achieve with my life; in my free time, career and lifestyle I hope to have a balanced and successful life. Going forward, my recipe for happiness will continue to positively influence how I live my life, all of these aspects will continue to grow and help me over the next decade. My twenties will offer me a handful of new possibilities that I can't wait to unravel.
