The purpose of this letter is to apply for admission to the International Relations program at [INSERT UNIVERSITY HERE] for the fall 2011 session. I began my undergraduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005 earning a Bachelor of Science degree. During these periods I had taken courses focused on various topics. After completing 100 credits, I gained admission to VCU Dental School but had decided to leave dental school to pursue my true passion in international politics. My first encounter with politics occurred in 2005, when I took part in a demonstration for Kuwaiti women's right to vote in parliamentary elections. I have always firmly believed in women's right to vote and even joined a national committee to support this worthy cause. The results of our support were substantial and Kuwaiti women gained the right to vote in May 2005. Apart from this, I also joined various committees that fought against the political corruption of money during the Kuwaiti parliamentary elections. Therefore, these involvements whetted my desire to be part of the political arena. While studying in the United States, I was able to hone both my academic and intellectual skills. Exploring American culture and interacting with different Americans and nationalities helped further understand how different people interact. I firmly believe that this experience will be an asset to my future career in global politics. As for my work experiences, they have changed in recent years. I was a mentor at Cosby High School for two semesters and a teacher's assistant in the Department of World Studies at Virginia Commonwealth U...... middle of paper ...... faculty and students of national politics. The institute's resources will also maximize my learning. I believe your institution is at the forefront of knowledge in the political world; so, this is the kind of environment I will be honored to be a part of. The [INSERT DEPARTMENT HERE] has always been appreciated and studying with the best will help me achieve my most ambitious goals. I will acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge that will be useful to me throughout my career. My academic success in my undergraduate school, as well as my desire and seriousness to pursue a global political career, will ensure my success with the International Relations program. My work experience, combined with my education and personal qualities, make me an excellent candidate for your program. I appreciate your careful consideration of my application for your program.
