Sacrificing is essentially a way of giving up something to benefit another person. Sacrifice has different values for different people. For some it could be the release of some sentimentally precious object; for others, it may mean sacrificing one's life. My experience with sacrifice has led me to believe that it is better understood when compared to relationships with family. Sacrificing yourself for a family member doesn't necessarily mean you owe them; rather, it means that you love them and are willing to do anything to satisfy them. Even though you let go of something sentimentally precious, you are willing to sacrifice yourself for your family because it is a way to create healthy relationships. Spouses undergo many sacrifices to obtain the pleasure of their spouse. The bride and groom wait nervously before exchanging vows. Husbands and wives have to compromise. A successful compromise involves the sacrifice of both. Marriage vows affirm that each is willing to lovingly sacrifice for the other, no matter the cost. Before marriage, the husband may be an alcoholic and promises to abstain from alcohol overdose, this serves as a sacrifice because the husband is willing to give up something pleasant. On the other hand, the wife might promise to watch an hour of football even though she hates football with a passion. Couples strive to do things for each other that help them stay together, but also happy and fulfilled in their marriage. Wedding vows may be a form of behavioral sacrifice, but a mother's sacrifice is by far the most important act of sacrifice. Imagine a mother who is strenuously trying to conceive a child, but her body won't cooperate. The mother was possibly...... middle of the paper ...... and. At the beginning I struggled, but luckily I managed to do it. Even though I was busy with university work and struggled to find free time for myself, I was able to sacrifice my time for my little sister. Family is a priority that surpasses everything that interferes with it. I believe that in this world we have to give up something in exchange for getting something better. Sacrifice is essential for the solution of the daily problem. Modern American families are initially surprised that a simple principle like sacrifice has provided the solution to all their problems. We don't value sacrifice as much as self-care. Sacrifice is doing something against your own inclination to please someone you love or not doing something you would like to do to please someone you love. It may seem expensive at times, but sacrifice is a gift that brings many rewards.
