The Han Dynasty and the Roman Empire were both powerful empires during their era. However, the ways in which they gained power varied greatly because they used different methods involving their political structures, which revolved around their centralized governments. The Han Dynasty and the Roman Empire acquired truly unique techniques that allowed them to control society and politics. For example, the Han Dynasty adopted a religion known as Confucianism, which controlled everything in the lives of the Chinese. In contrast, the Roman Empire established a monarchy but allowed its residents greater freedom than the Han. However, the two empires were similar in political structures as power depended on the rich who held power, peasants struggled with their lives due to troubling issues such as food supply. Empires were able to create and preserve peaceful and sustainable life for a long time, unlike empires of the past. Social distribution was under the control of the wealthiest and could easily influence community views and interactions between residents. These two empires existed during the Classical period and had comparable and different social, political, religious, as well as economic values and practices. However, both possessed differences and similarities in their economic and social outlook, even though the two empires were founded around the same era. The Roman Empire had a social system based on autonomy, inheritance, citizenship and property, as well as distinguishing men and women based on their social status. For some reason, if a case could not be solved, higher officials and even the emperor got involved. The history of the world has numerous civilizations ranging from weak to strong and in level of influential. These civilizations contributed things that significantly influenced the world as it is known today. Examples of such civilizations include the Han Dynasty and the Roman Empire, which brought about major changes to the socio-economic landscape of the globe. Although both civilizations have great influences, there are various differences and similarities in the social and economic scenarios of the two civilizations. It is therefore necessary to differentiate these scenarios to appreciate the extent of influence facilitated by these civilizations.
