Life is more rewarding with friendship. Every day is an opportunity to meet someone new. It doesn't matter if you are at school, at work or just out and about, people are everywhere. Whether you get along with them or not is your choice. In my experiences, I have found that there are three different types of friends that help your life run more smoothly. Many of us meet a good number of friends through work. These would be what we call your “work friends”. The more friends an individual has at work, the better. Often, colleagues will help you when you fall behind on your work schedule. If their plans allow, they will cover or swap a shift for you if something happens and you need a day off. When times get tough and your boss is kicking your ass, coworkers often support you. Friends at work make the load much less annoying and stressful. Nobody likes going to a party alone. This is where your “social friends” come in. They are your best bet for having fun in a strange place. There is no commitment; call them and go have fun. Conversation with a sociable friend is never boring, because they are only around occasionally, so there is a lot to catch up on. Another good thing is that they are always willing to take the wheel when you're a little tipsy. Friends don't let friends drive drunk. In most cases, social friends are there when you need them and out of the way when you don't. ...
