I also came to this assignment with some confusion and uncertainty. After discussing with my instructor, I decided to try the angle I was interested in writing about, which was the aspect of women's rights (or lack thereof) in a conversation with the rights defined in the Declaration of Independence. This type of conversation between two writings was a new concept to me. My ability to reference a person's writing and integrate it with another piece of writing was put to the test while writing this article. I had to keep things organized, my points clear and well supported by quotation marks. The chapter we read in class about “They Say, I Say” helped me a lot in organizing the content of this essay. I was able to smoothly integrate the content of the external writings with my own comments using the techniques demonstrated in the chapter. I ended up creating an article that I was pretty proud of
