Robert changed the narrator's thoughts about the blind after showing the narrator that he was like him. I identify with him because after that I started playing sports, even though some teachers were still critical. The students treated me like one of their own and monitored my “label” disability. My peers no longer saw me as an EI student, they saw me as an athlete. Returning to my thesis, disability should not be considered in a single classification; it should be based on the individual student. My disability, which was later removed by the State of Michigan, has been a blessing to me. My hard work has paid off and I can't wait to see what my life will begin in the next four or five years, getting my bachelor's degree in Special Education, English Education and Physics
