Then I sat him down on the bed and made sure he was comfortable. Mr. Brown smiles and comments on what a great job I had done, which made me feel confident and appreciated. After completing this skill, I feel the most important thing for me was to maintain Mr. Brown's privacy, dignity, and communication. As I communicated more with Mr. Brown, I felt we were starting to build a relationship and I felt more comfortable completing my task. My goal is to provide more male personal care to increase my confidence. Having my mentor to guide me really helped me, I listened effectively to the information provided and intend to put it into practice in the future. Teamwork was also a very important aspect that ensured the provision of safe and high-quality care (Leonard, M. et al. 2004). My knowledge of the concept of privacy and dignity and its importance to healthcare and benefit to service users has increased, however I will also be carrying out more research into privacy and dignity in relation to patient care.
