Learning Theories PaperThis lesson gave me a lot of information about how I want to teach in my classes. Not only did it give me ideas about things I had never thought of, but it also explained things I had already seen. When I look at behaviorism now and connect it to all the things I do not only in my past lessons, but also in my current ones, I see how far the ideas and understanding of human learning have come. It was almost frustrating to learn the history behind the idea of ​​school and how it was geared not towards growth, creativity, community and self-improvement, but rather towards the goal of pushing people to the top further down the line. To change this I can only do everything I can to enable children to understand the different options available and hope that they too will strive for something more. As a physical educator I believe I would practice critical constructivism with a main focus on social learning theory. Seeing that I find myself being a better visual learner, I think it's only fair to express this to the children I teach. I think this theory is perfect for physical education because before each lesson there should be a demonstration of the lesson being taught. This gives students a good visual representation of the correct way to do what is asked and should help them with questions they have. There is also the opportunity for me to allow other students to demonstrate and help their classmates with problems they may have. I think it's good to not always hear things from the same person and to allow other people to weigh in and express their thoughts and ideas on a particular topic. I think that breeds learning... middle of paper... how can I go out there and make kids smile and have fun, but again, it's easy. I want to be the teacher that kids remember not just because I was one, but also because I taught them something and gave them a new way of looking at things critically. I think I'll be good at implementing social learning theory because I like to be involved and if doing so is helpful for them, then that's another added benefit. I hope I can keep my ideas fresh and creative through the use of technology, so I always keep children interested and keep them motivated and eager to learn more. I believe that if you can motivate a child to learn, then you can find a way to teach them anything. I really think I will enjoy not only challenging the kids, but also challenging myself to continue to find ways to relate to each student and to make them interested and excited to learn.
