My friends and I went to the cinema and watched The Shallows. This movie was about a girl who was bitten by a great white shark. He tried to swim to safety and all he had was a small island. The island became covered in water when the tide rose in the afternoon, so he had to swim to another island. As she swam to safety, she had to fight the shark and finally she defeated the shark and her friends came to help her. This taught me that it is good to have friends because they will help us when we are in trouble. My family and I laid the floor of my grandparents' house. We laid dark wood flooring in the living room and tiles in the kitchen. This made the house feel like a completely new home. Doing all these things with my family was fun, but I didn't realize how much I could learn from them just by spending time together. Spending time with my family and friends has taught me that they are important and that we should spend time together every chance we get. Last summer taught me about teamwork, how God is always there for me no matter what, and how important it is to spend time with family and friends. I will never forget the impact the things I learned last summer had on my life and how important they are. My summer was full of excitement and new adventures that included my family and friends. Someone once said: “Every summer has its own story,”
