Topic > Critical Thinking Reflection - 1718

I'm trying to do better by paying close attention to my colleagues like Makenna, Abby, and Heather, who always seem to address this learning outcome very well by referencing some aspect of the authors' past life that could open the doors to understanding what they were writing about. I remember, for example, that when we were discussing A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, Makenna questioned the fact that it had been written in 1792, and the previous text we read, The Social Contract, had been written in 1762, and that the author of the previous text also wrote A Vindication of the Rights of Man, which helped show the class that perhaps in that 30 year period up to 1792, the way women were viewed in society improved compared to how they were viewed in 1762. I will try to bring my colleagues' techniques to achieve this learning outcome in my next seminar, in the hope of improving how to ask meaningful questions effectively, but also how to criticize efficiently and find possible implications in the authors
