Ivan "Lulu" AlsilawiHistory May 181, 2014Women's MovementWomen went through an extremely difficult period during the 1800s, but after many centuries of difficulty and misunderstanding a defining point was failing in the following 100 years. An evolution was starting, women were ready for change but only time will allow it to happen. Women continued to struggle and fall behind men, they were taught to cook cleanly and just be housewives, their lack of education narrowed their vision, they were unable to see anything else in their peripheral visual field. A woman's life was set and planned from the day of her birth, through adolescence, to seek marriage, have children, and teach her daughters to do exactly the same thing. They thought this was the way to live and had learned it through their children. parents and social pressures on what a woman should or could be. They only aspired to be housewives, mothers, grandmothers and aunts, never being labeled anything else. Their future in this period was not seen as very bright, they were not allowed to take up any profession, much less get a decent education for themselves. Society knew one thing and pushed it well: the whole woman depends exclusively on one man. All this has gradually changed, very small steps by women leading the way like Josephine Shaw, Jane Addams and Susan B. Anthony and many other women fighting for change have inspired a difference. Jane Adams was born on September 6, 1860 in Cedarville, Illinois, she grew up in a very wealthy family. She didn't have to work very hard to get the things she wanted, they were almost always given to her by her father. John Addams was her father, he was a successful political figure and businessman. It was… at the heart of the card… the power of women to vote. More women, both in the workplace and in life in general, which can be attributed to the hard work of the pioneers of the women's movement. Men essentially controlled the ability of women's rights, such as voting, wages, and labor laws, even how well they behave, but the drastic changes women have implemented for themselves and the rights they have obtained are even more surprising. Treating women the same as men is what is right. Power has not yet been distributed equally, but it is better for one sex to have it all instead of having it distributed equally. Future women who may become doctors, lawyers and astronauts can now step back and look behind them admiring the courage of the women who fought for what was rightfully theirs in the first place, and the courage of the men in doing the right thing by supporting that women have equal rights.
