With a growing diverse community, as a teacher one should be aware of the needs that each culture requires. Teachers who understand and appreciate culturally diverse strengths and knowledge bases are more likely to provide enriching, responsive learning environments that praise children's cultural differences. To be a successful teacher or administrator you need to know all the different groups you might encounter. With all this in mind I have come to understand that to teach about inequality you need to be aware of different cultures and challenge your own perspective to understand. As any good leader knows, the success of a group depends on the optimal use of people's unique talents and abilities. My project as an educator is to transmit and promote a culture of diversity that prepares future citizens for a diverse society.
