Secondary evidence is “research conducted by other writers” (Ward and Vander Lei 12). An example of a secondary source would be Larry Wachowski's contribution on Christian themes in The Matrix. In the article, Bassham included the moment one of the directors met with Time Magazine to talk about the film. “It is also significant that in an interview with Time magazine, writer-director Larry Wachowski talks about the 'rebirth' of Neo” (Bassham 112). Having spoken to the director of the film, this is a stronger and more credible source to make his case about the religious aspects of the film. In the sentence about Nebuchadnezzar, the hovercraft, Bassham referenced this same interview with Larry Wachowski to bring back the secondary evidence and keep the idea alive. Another secondary source is Bassham who includes a quote from George Barna that states, “It doesn't matter what religious faith you follow because all faiths teach similar lessons about life” (Bassham 116). George Barna, founder of The Barna Group, studies Americans' religious beliefs and behaviors and the intersection of faith and culture. Also touching on ethics, it consolidates the credibility of all the external evidence Bassham provides to convince his point of view. The reputation of Bassham's article has improved with
