Wesson and Dr. Rhodes' study is unique because it gives students a voice. When they asked students about homework and grading, here's what they said. “If a teacher does not grade homework and return it to students the next day or soon after, students report feeling as if they have wasted their time on that activity (Wilson 352).” It is very sad that students think homework is a waste of time. If students feel that something is useless and a waste of time, they are less likely to do it. They then go on to say, “although teachers continue to assign homework when some students fail to turn it in, there are justifiable reasons why they continue to require completion of such homework (Wilson 353).” Why continue doing something that has not shown good results. It's time for a change, a change for the better. A change that could improve teaching, student help and success
