While I was aware of the importance of inquiry and real-life connections, real-world experience with students in the classroom enriched my learning. The questions students asked during discussions and investigations made me think about how a child might think differently. The skills they possess at this age, the way they formulate their questions make me think and, in turn, make me an inquirer. Being a teacher is not about having answers to all the questions a student may have, just like the child who understands and follows the attitudes, attributes and skills of the IB student profile, I believe we as teachers must try to absorb them ourselves we ask students to do it first. Differentiated instruction is one of my favorite concepts and one that is close to my heart. This is because when I was a child my teachers rarely believed in my potential and only a few helped me fight my fears.
