In today's global world, it is my duty to take action to change the world for the better. Enrolling and participating in many extracurricular activities has improved my ability to engage in an active role in community and school improvement. Being someone who is active in reaching out and providing help to those in need has strengthened my inspiration to take time out of my life to help others. Choosing challenging subjects actually tested my work ethic and time management skills. I am filled with gratitude for the opportunities I have been given. I never regret the choices I made in my life through those opportunities. I have lived a truly special and unique life, learning a number of lessons along the way. My experience traveling abroad exposed me to new cultures and I adapted in a way that was accepted by those cultures. Say no to plagiarism. The way my parents raised me is what made me the person I am today, and I think they did an amazing job. They never forced me to study or be the best. My parents believe the choices I have made. “Be yourself, be yourself, because the future is in your hands, let's try our best to give you a nice path and a little encouragement for your initial journey in life,” that's what my parents said. I consistently believed that there was no such thing as enough education. Education allows us to grow and achieve bigger and better things. I am currently studying fundamentals of allied sciences in one of Malaysia's medical schools in Cyberjaya and will graduate in January 2020. I think I did much better academically in my foundation than I ever did in High School. This is because there is no routine to the experience. Every week I have new projects to complete, tests to study for, and activities to try. For me, academics are my top priority. I am very particular about my schedule and put care into my work and always manage my time efficiently so as to fit everything in without overlap. In addition to academics, I try to connect my passion for education with my desire to help others. This year I volunteered for the 10th Service Learning Day of the University Scholars Leadership Symposium in Malaysia and it was an eye-opener. There were around 200 delegates from all over the world, 200 refugees and 25 volunteers. Apart from that, I followed a small volunteer program organized by my college especially during Chinese New Year and Eid. I love learning new things and that's why I love being part of a team. By volunteering I can understand more about the community and learn through hands-on experience. I want to network with people who share common goals and gain new friends. Volunteering helps improve my well-being, including better self-esteem, psychological health and happiness. The serendipitous side effect of volunteering for me is that I met people who became friends, I developed as a person, I improved my low self-esteem by default, and I learned new skills. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field, and physical therapy/occupational therapy/speech therapy was the career path that combined aspects of my life that I was passionate about: helping people. I recognized my passion for helping others in/
