The good in Beowulf's poem is Beowulf and all the people who live in Hrothgar's kingdom. The evil in the poem is Grendel, Grendel's mother, and the dragon. Good and evil are more or less the same in the Beowulf movie, the good in the movie is Beowulf and all the people in Hrothgar's kingdom. Even the evil is the same in the movement, namely Grendel, Grendel's mother, and the dragon, who in the film is Beowulf's son. The next difference in the film is that there was actually a curse that caused the destruction of Hrothgar's kingdom. they wanted so much darkness and death in the film compared to the poem which did not include it. Grendel was actually Hrothgar's son, which is a big difference between the poem and the movie, because the movie added that part to make it more interesting. Hrothgar had slept with the Sea Witch and received a curse that essentially gave his soul to the Sea Witch for a child. The poem however did not include him. The poem mentioned that Hrothgar had a monster that came from two other monsters and that Grendel's father was not known but it never said that Grendel was Hrothgar's son. The last and final difference and similarity between the movie and the poem Beowulf is that at the end of the movie was that they didn't build Beowulf a tower like he requested in the poem. In the poem, Beowulf told Wiglac that he wanted the great ones to build a great tower by the sea to show a memory of Beowulf to all who saw the tower. In the movie Beowulf this part was not included. In the film only Wiglac got the crown and the entire kingdom put Beowulf on a large ship with all his treasures and set it on fire leading to the end of the story.
