The movie Hotel Rwanda is about a battle between Hutus and Tutsis that leads to a major war in Rwanda. Paul Rusesabagina, director of Sabena, owned the hotel called des Mille Collines. Paul is Hutu but has a wife named Tatiana who is Tutsi. Georges Rutaganda was a Hutu extremist, he also supplied supplies to the hotel and was a local Interahamwe leader. Georges shows throughout the film that he doesn't like Paul's marriage to Tatiana. Things begin to worsen in Rwanda, forcing Paul and his family to watch his neighbors be violently killed. During the film Paul began bribing people with alcohol and money to keep his family safe. When the civil war began, an officer threatens Paul and his neighbors by forcing him to take his neighbors to the hotel. Once people saw what Paul was doing, other people started coming to the hotel for safety. The people who collaborated on the film were United Nations peacekeepers, the Red Cross and orphanages. Colonel Oliver, who led the UN peacekeeping forces, was unable to fight against the Hutus because they could not be involved in the genocide. While the United Nations was trying to evacuate a group of people from the hotel, the Hutu ambushed them and forced them to return to the hotel. Paul has the courage to beg Rwandan army general Augustin Bizimungu to help them, but after blackmailing the general, Paul decides that his family and everyone in the hotel should leave. During this bloody war, after crossing enemy lines, Paul managed to save more people and reunite with his loved ones in a refugee camp. Say no to plagiarism. Get an original essay Hotel Rwanda shows the audience that there is still hope in times of trouble, everything has a price and self-support. As the city experienced murder and hatred, there needed to be a strong person to hold the community together and become a leader. Today there is a famous quote that says "Everything has a price". I believe that quote is powerful in this film because Paul pays for the freedom and lives of his family and people in the community by bringing them to his hotel. Also, bribing the army general for military protection, but once the bribes ran out, the protection stopped. Self-help was a big part in this movie when the West refuses to help during the genocide and this led to the UN peacekeepers being ordered not to use their weapons. From a biblical point of view I found two main things important, the first is the figure of Christ and the second, the true test of faith. The Christ figure in this movie called Hotel Rwanda was Paul Rusesabagina. Paul did not die on the cross like Christ, but he made countless sacrifices more than any human being during his difficult times. First, Paul allowed more than a thousand people to stay in his hotel while the war was going on. Secondly, in the movie, Paul goes to the army general to see if he can help, but the general at first decides not to help Paul until Paul stands up to him and keeps pressuring him so that he can help people, but once the bribes stop, the General stops helping. Thirdly, Paul and the others decided that the hotel was no longer safe to stay there, so Paul with the help of others and the united nation begin to walk towards their safe house and during their passage they continue to save people and take them to a safe place. Safer refugee camp behind Tutsi lines. Many people admired Paul, 32.
