After getting CGPA 10 in Senior Secondary Examination, I decided to pursue commerce having Economics and Mathematics as two of my major subjects. Having studied Indian Economy in grade 11, I found that although India is developing at a rapid pace, it still faces the problem of poverty and unemployment. I studied Management Principles and Functions. With this I understood the fundamental principles given by FW Taylor and Henry Fayol. A comparative analysis of their studies shows that although their approaches were quite different from each other, they still aim at the goal of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. I was also able to apply management functions in the various events organized in my school since I was part of the organizing team. I was able to strengthen this knowledge after being elected Head Girl of my school by successfully completing multidimensional tasks. Say no to plagiarism. Mathematical and statistical understanding complemented my progress in interpreting and analyzing available facts. While reading The Undercover Economist by Tim Harford I was able to come across examples from everyday life where some of the topics mentioned above, such as price elasticity and the monopolistic form of the market, play a significant role. I became aware of how green belts are not only limited to the environmental aspect but also influence economic results. After reading the book I could conclude how companies plan strategies to attract all types of customers and how delicately they make huge profits. I have participated in ten Model United Nations conferences and received numerous awards. I researched and discussed tax avoidance and the world of black money in the Economic and Financial Council (ECOFIN) of a model United Nations conference. Negotiating and discussing this topic as a delegate of the Russian Federation allowed me to understand the depth of various economic policies formulated around the world. Towards the end I was able to draw up a resolution which was approved with a two-thirds majority. This experience further sparked my quest to learn more about various global economic issues. I later joined the executive committee of ECOFIN, which sparked a discussion about cryptocurrencies. These experiences have strengthened my abilities to effectively communicate my opinions. I have been closely following the economic crisis in Venezuela. What interests me most in all of this is how a country with abundant oil resources, once called the model of democracy in Latin America, has reached such a dire state that it is struggling to maintain its economic stability. I extracted that the country must immediately restructure its economic policies to stabilize the currency and control hyperinflation. It also has to restructure its debts by coming to certain agreements with lenders. Emphasis must be placed on the production of necessary goods such as food and medicines within the country's domestic territory. In the long term, Venezuela should seek to diversify its sources of income instead of depending only on revenues from oil exports. Please note: this is just an example.
