Imagine this, morning, with students walking to school innocently, just like any other day. The next thing you hear are sounds of gunshots, people screaming, dead and injured children and teachers, and people running trying to call for help. No, this is not a scene from a Hollywood movie, this is reality. School shootings are a serious problem that must be solved and prevented to bring peace to this world. A great message about school shootings was spread through the Black-Eyed Peas music video “BIG LOVE” which was about school shootings. The music video and song are so sad but at the same time true, we need love instead of people killing each other which will get humanity nowhere. The shocking thing is that half of the school killers were students. School shootings occurred in the 1990s and 1980s, but people did not pay attention to solving and preventing such acts because they did not occur frequently. Now, the number of school shootings is increasing frighteningly, especially in the United States. In my opinion, the causes of this horrible crime are very controversial. Some people might blame the parents while others might blame the school and others might blame the killer. The more important question is: what are the main causes that can lead a person to commit such a horrific terrorist attack as a school shooting, and how can we understand it better? Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an original essay Psychiatric drugs can be one of the main causes that can lead a person to commit a crime such as a school shooting. Psychotropic medication is a “medical” drug that doctors prescribe to people suffering from a psychiatric illness such as profound depression, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, and so on. Walking into a school and shooting everyone is a terrifying and horrible thing that a person cannot do unless they are under the influence of a certain type of drug, which can lead them to commit a crime without being fully conscious or aware of the own actions. Nearly 80 percent of school killers were on prescription drugs. This answers the question I continually ask myself: How could a mentally stable person commit such a crime? So, does the drug help the person or make things worse? In the course of my research on this topic, I discovered strong evidence that supports my opinion, namely a CCHRint interview with constitutional lawyer Jonathan Emord. Jonathan Emord spoke in the video about the financial interests of the psychiatric drug industry and how this is linked to school shootings. This interview revealed the dark side of these drugs and how they use society for financial reasons. The more the psychiatric drug industry produces these “drugs”, the more revenue they will earn, ignoring the fact that these drugs are causing more harm than good to people's lives. There is no doubt that some people may need medications or medications to treat their serious illness (while on probation), but perhaps medications are not always the right answer to treat psychiatric illness, especially for younger people . Concrete evidence of the negative effects of these psychotropic drugs is the shooting at Adam Lanza's Sandy Hook elementary school. Adam Lanza was born on April 22, 1992. On December 14, 2012, 20-year-old Adam Lanza went to an elementary school and shot 27 people: 20 children, 5 teachers and his mother. Adam shot his mother, Nancy Lanza, first.then he took his car and drove about 5 miles to Sandy Hook Elementary School and started shooting at everyone, and then at himself. Through research and investigation and many conflicts and lawsuits, Attorney Jonathan discovered, after suing the state for refusing to show Adam Lanza's medical records, it was discovered that Adam was on a psychiatric medication that could have lead him to commit this crime. This does not justify Adam's act of violence, but it will certainly make mental health professionals become more responsible on how to deal with mental disorders because not everything can be solved with pills and drugs. An emotionally, mentally, and physically abusive environment can lead a person to commit a crime such as a school shooting. Most people who have committed a crime such as school shootings have experienced abusive parents or extreme bullying at school. Constant bullying and hatred towards a student will not only cause them depression and mental illness, but will turn them into criminals and terrorists. The sad thing is that 1 in 4 teachers don't see bullying as a problem. Living with abusive parents can be another reason that drags the person down this path. Living with parents who constantly abuse their child can cause the child to have suicidal thoughts and act out to harm themselves, because the child/adolescent is on the dark side of life due to the abuse they suffer day after day. I'm not justifying this act of terror on bullying or anything, I'm blaming the constant hatred, abuse and being clueless that can turn the person into a criminal and terrorist. During my research on this topic, I saw a very exciting video on this topic. In a TedxTalk, Aaron Stark talked about his story and how he was so close to becoming a school shooter, until his friend helped him and told him how to get out of the darkness and hatred. School shootings are a very controversial topic and people are still looking for a clear and obvious cause to this problem. In my opinion, I find Aaron's story useful for my research because it speaks to aspects and points related to my topic, which is the emotional side of the issue. Most people overlook the effects of their behavior towards others and do not feel guilty or accept blame. Aaron was abused when he was younger in all sorts of ways which led to self-harming behavior, suicidal thoughts, and thoughts about school shootings. All thanks to his friend who helped him come out of the darkness and into the light. All thanks to the acts of kindness his friend showed him. And here's the clue: showing love and kindness and treating someone like a real human being has a huge positive effect on a person. A real life story that demonstrates how the social environment can have a huge effect on a person's life is the story of Aaron Stark that he talked about in a TedxTalk. 39-year-old Aaron Stark talks about his dark past and how he was so close to becoming a school shooter. Aaron grew up in a mentally, emotionally, and physically abusive family and circumstances. He was bullied and humiliated not only at school, but also by his abusive parents. This obviously led to his depression and self-harming behavior such as cutting his own skin. He had a single friend who he considers his best friend who was so kind to him and treated him like a real person. Aaron was this close to picking up a gun, going to school, and shooting everyone because of the darkness he lived in. His best friend made him feel loved and showed him kindness and that's what.
