“You are what you eat” is an old saying proven by many researchers. The trend of being healthy and eating healthy is spreading all over the world. There is a lot of research going on into different methods that can improve and enhance a person's diet and health. One of the greatest research is that conducted on organic foods. In today's supermarkets, the trend towards "organic" is the greatest, because the results of this research are positive. Many scholars believe that the transition to organic will bring benefits to their health and the society around them. The organic food industry is growing every day and more and more people are becoming aware of it. So going organic is the best choice because it is better for the human body, the environment and the local economy. First of all, what does the word “Organic” mean? Well, organic simply means how the food is produced and processed. Organic farming is the oldest farming method, but it has been rejected as farmers are coming up with new ideas. According to Davidson, “Before the 1940s, what is now called organic farming was the standard method of raising crops and animals.” Organic farming is a method without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides or genetically modified organisms. Instead, organic farming uses natural fertilizers such as: sewage, vermicompost, algae, etc. Furthermore, there are two methods which are very popular and efficient for organic farming system. They are called pheromone traps and yellow traps, and both of these methods are very cheap and effective. Organic animal products are produced in similar ways, similar plant-based products. Additionally, animal products do not use any chemicals or hormones... middle of paper... anyone who ate the modified peanut risked having an allergic reaction. Therefore, the only solution was to simply go organic. Organic production prohibits GMOs and keeps them natural. In conclusion, eating organic foods has numerous benefits for the body and the environment. The organic food trend has been established and more and more organic producers are entering the industry. This is very beneficial for people because the more clean food they have, the healthier the next generation will be. Studies conducted show that organic foods have high levels of vitamin C, even though they have the same nutritional value as conventional ones. However, taking into account the issue of the use of chemicals and pesticides seems to suggest that organic products are better and more beneficial for the human body and the environment.
