Participating in team sports or any other sport helps maintain a healthy body which helps develop good character. Participation in sports provides constant exercise. When one's body is healthy and fit it helps to increase the person's confidence and produces a positive result for the team. According to a 2005 study at D'Youville College in Buffalo, New York, a teenager who plays sports in high school reduces her risk of taking illegal drugs. This improves the health of the body and will build character. If an athlete sees another person using drugs, the athlete will be able to help other teenagers explain why they should take drugs by following principles of good character. Exercise is good for the body and can promote healthy lifestyles. Being physically healthy will strengthen one's character and make them strong and know how to overcome difficulties
