Topic > Canada's Growth as a Nation During the First World War - 936

Canadians contributed in many ways to aid our country's great efforts in the First World War. The Canadians literally had the entire country and made enormous demands on the Canadian people, whether they were involved in the actual fighting or remained on the home front to work in industry or agriculture to support the war effort. Canada grew tremendously during the war as a nation, individually and emotionally. The Canadian troops had to be strong and responsible as they were always running from one front to another and they had to be strong so that little things don't bother them so that they don't become emotionally unstable so they could end their lives. Strength played an important role during the war, as did courage and each Canadian troop had these two components which made it a strong army to attack against. Canada's sacrifices and contributions to the war changed their history and allowed them to become more independent and become friends with Great Britain. it got stronger and stronger. Canada was first entered into World War I when Great Britain declared war on Germany, on August 4, 1914. Being Britain's ally, Canada had to support those who were at war even though they knew they were not there and fighting everyone on the front was reinforcements in case the German soldiers broke through the trenches and headed towards France. The governor general also subsequently declared war on Germany, but the Canadians fought under the command of a British commander. The Canadian Army's successes during the First World War came during the battles of the Somme, Vimy Ridge and Passchendaele and what later became known as "Canada's Hundred Days". They help fight for freedom and peace for the small village of Passchendaele and yet, since it was a muddy hell, they still persevere through a paper lifestyle and start on their own and no Canadian could enter beyond that land. Canada became a superior nation through perseverance, courage and even commitment as it persevered through many dark battles and ensured that everyone came together as a unit other than individuals. Their courage made their fight 100% stronger as they would not back down from any task and were not afraid of losing their lives to help a friend and their country. Caring has played an important aspect in the heart of every Canadian. They cared about Britain so they didn't have to help them when they declared war, they helped other troops with their emotional problems and finally they even cared a little about their enemies as they are the same person, however the only thing that separates them is there it's culture. Canadians contributed in many ways to aid our country's great efforts in the First World War.
