We all know the stories of Jesus. He walked with the weary. He broke bread with strangers. He gave hope to the desperate. And he loved those who despised him. The list goes on and on. When we specifically remember Christ's sacrifice for us, there are several emotions that emerge in his story. Grief, anger and grief are a few. But there is also joy, triumph and, ultimately, love. We can find rejuvenation in the Scriptures and enjoy the Word. But that's not the whole picture, right? We all know that everything in life is not just reading verses or reflecting on intellectual thoughts. “Life” is not always “satisfying”. We find in American churches today a generation of people that includes those who are spiritually dead. We encounter those who are spiritually restless, or bored, or simply “content” with constant cycles and the status quo. Church. Sermon. Sing. Go home. Is it really like that? This spiritual “death” is also a reflection of people's lives. There are many who feel dissatisfied with their lives. This raises the question: why? Why, if we are Christians living in faith, do we feel dissatisfied with our lives? It also leads to the question, “How can I achieve satisfaction as a Christian?” Before I continue further in my perspectives, I want to acknowledge that I am not indisputable in my thoughts. I don't have all the "answers" and I don't claim to be "right" about everything I say. Frankly, this issue I'm talking about is one I'm still grappling with. However, in my studies and research, I have found some insights that I think might be helpful to those who would like to listen. My intent is to humbly share what I have discovered and let my words be encouraging. In answer to the first question, many believe that... middle of the paper... or humbly examine ourselves to see if we truly love others and love God with all. I hope we can let go of everything we have and only think of people in need around the world. I hope we can consider the 28,000 people who will die today from hunger and treatable diseases. People who may have never heard of an amazing God who loves them. I hope we can look at the world and see what we can do to make it better. For when our actions reflect our spirit, we will surely find satisfaction. Matthew 28:18-19 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, until the end of time. (Crossway Bible, Matthew 29. 18-19)”
