Medical Administrative Assistants Medical Administrative Assistants have numerous duties in an office. Medical administrative assistants can find work in a doctor's office or hospital. Medical assistants work mostly at the front of the office and hospital assisting patients and checking in. Knowing some medical assistants, I know that some of their duties are: scheduling patients, greeting patients, doing paperwork, handling insurance issues or claims, and even supervising enrollment. Administrative medical assistants may be asked to measure the patient's height or blood pressure. Medical assistants are sometimes asked to purchase needed medical equipment in the office. If necessary they can also work as office managers. They manage the doctor's agenda and write letters and invoices (Employment Outlook Handbook). Accounting plays a huge role in this field, such as managing insurance procedures and bank statements. Statements are liabilities that a patient has accumulated overtime. Having a great attitude is very necessary as a medical assistant because that job is in the customer service field. It is the medical assistant's duty to take care of the fees in a medical facility, so you need to know how to do bookkeeping. Some of the tasks involve collecting payments from the patient, monitoring records of all payments collected and filing forms to take action against patients who have not made payments for a long time or simply have not made any payments, that's why the Accounting is very important in this job. Accounting means recording financial reports, storing, organizing, retrieving and presenting information in numerous reports, which goes back to one of the tasks of a health care... middle of the paper... half of the workers of a certain profession earned more than that amount and half earned less.
