Mother Teresa was one of the most renowned humanitarian figures of her time. She dedicated her life to others, never to herself. She served many missions throughout her life and was well known throughout the world. Mother Teresa was a kind-hearted woman whose quest was to make this world a better place. Mother Teresa's hometown was Skopje in Macedonia and she was born on August 26, 1910. On August 27, 1910 she was baptized with the name Agnes Gonxha Bojazhiu, a name given to her by her parents (Mother Teresa, Biography[1]). His parents, Nikola and Drana Bokaxhiu, were Albanian grocers (the Encyclopedia “Mother Teresa” [1]) and were not very rich. When Mother Teresa was 8 years old, in 1919, her father fell ill and died. For the rest of her life she was very close to her mother (Mother Teresa, Biography [1]). His work for others began at home, when each evening his family invited someone to dine with them. Her mother told her, "My daughter, never eat a single morsel unless you share it with others." Not every night they would know that the person they were eating with was sometimes just a person from town. Finally, his family was very involved in the Catholic church and city politics (mother, biography [1]). Lewis 2In primary or elementary school Mother Teresa attended a local school run by nuns and in secondary or high school she attended a state school run the school. After high school, at the age of eighteen, she joined the Loreto Sisters of Dublin, Ireland. In the convent she took the name Maria Teresa and later became Mother Teresa (Mother Biography[1]). In Dublin she began training to become a nun, continued and finished in Darjeeling, India. In 1928 Mother Teresa took her first religious vows and took her final vows in 1937 ("Moth... in the center of the card... marked in many ways.
